A day of relaxing

Comfortable on two mattresses

Due to the bad weather, I decide to stay a day in the beautiful shelter with mattresses and a view of the heath. No punishment. The hut is spacious, I can almost stand in it, and I set up the two mattresses as a couch: one underneath me and one behind me. It’s surprisingly comfortable.

The weather is a spectacle

Throughout the day, I witness torrential rain, drizzling, sunshine, thunder, lightning, and even a rainbow passing by. The skies form a constantly changing spectacle. Every now and then, I also receive visits from three curious teenage cattle grazing among the heath. Chewing their cud, they look at me, and of course, I look at them too. It’s an entertaining back-and-forth.

Just like at home

And so I get through the day. Writing, although it’s much less than I had planned, inspiration cannot be forced, taking care of some administrative tasks, reading, posting on Instagram, doing laundry, and occasionally stretching my legs if the weather allows it. Of course, cooking, snacking, and washing up also need to be done. Essentially just like at home, but in the Danish countryside.

Them rather than me

Every now and then, a hiker or cyclist passes by for a toilet visit or water. They are braver than I am and face the rain and strong wind. Them rather than me. There’s not much more to say. Just a day of relaxing.
