This donkey indeed

Irrigated again

With a blush on my cheeks, I must confess something. I’m back standing among the sprinklers… The cute donkeys I’ve encountered along the way are probably laughing, because a donkey doesn’t hit the same stone twice. Well, this donkey did.

Sprinkler

I checked the grass but didn’t see any hidden sprinklers. Moreover, there were also dry patches in the grass, and I assumed this grass would be irrigated manually. Fortunately, it was only a little spray compared to the last time, and I was surprised and woke up only once. It wasn’t too bad, but really, what a shame.

And also rain

Irrigation wasn’t even necessary. It’s raining and blowing hard. In the middle of the night, I even get up to fasten extra guy lines to my tent. It’s really tumultuous, and I don’t want my tent to fly away. In the morning, I find the sprinkler. I had seen it, but it looked like something else entirely, and it was also rusted. Unbelievable that water was still coming out.

Rain in the cafeteria

When it’s dry, I decide to take a long detour to the supermarket first. It can’t be helped. I end up sitting in the cafeteria for almost an hour and a half because it started raining quite heavily again. Afterwards, I walk in the rain for a while, but fortunately, it clears up. The views are stunning, nature is happy with some rain, and I enjoy a little sunshine on my face again.

Dry and quiet

I see no one all day. Only when I sit on a stone having my lunch do a few dirt bikes pass by and disturb the silence for a moment. But what peace and space. I love it. I pass through the village of Freixeda do Torrão. It looks deserted and is completely silent.

Sheltering in a stone shed

On the weather radar, I see that bad weather is on the way again. Heavy rain and thunderstorms. When I soon come across a kind of stone shed, the choice is quickly made. I’ll stay here. A nice shelter against the approaching thunderstorm. I cook my warm meal, sweep the floor clean, and settle in. Let the storm come!
