My mini vacation can begin!

Searching for some coolness

It’s a pity about the small camping field where I spend the night. It’s perfectly located on a small strip of land between two lakes. However, there is nowhere to access the water. There is reed everywhere or a precipice, making it impossible to reach the water.

Therefore, I’m looking for another spot where I can stay for two nights. Tomorrow it’s going to be 32 degrees, and I’m going to enjoy it: swimming and lounging. Nothing more. Five kilometers off the route, there is a village with a small supermarket. I also see a pond and a small beach. Hopefully, that’s the place. Otherwise, I will go shopping there and return to the camping field. I heard from the lady at the Hallandsleden that there is indeed a pier 1.5 kilometers further on. I’ll go check it out.

Geocaching high in the tree

It is indeed a beautiful spot by a little church. If I can’t find anything else, this will be my place for tomorrow. Then I’ll just walk back and forth to the camping field. While I sit at the church, an old man arrives with a long extendable stick. He tries to grab something high up in a tree. At first, I think it’s fruit or honey or something. He doesn’t speak English, but I understand ‘geocaching’. I’ve never really grasped how it works, but with a GPS receiver or an app on your phone, you go looking for so-called ‘caches,’ hidden treasures. I didn’t know that sometimes you have to retrieve your treasure high from a tree and need special tools for that. Quite remarkable.

By bus

I’m taking the bus to the supermarket in Skällinge. I wanted to walk the five kilometers. There are only four buses a day. But just as I’m walking past the bus stop, the bus arrives. How lucky can you get? So nice to be able to sit on my lazy behind in the bus.

The perfect place without tranquility

The beach is indeed perfect and there is also a shelter a little further on that wasn’t shown on the map. It won’t be quiet here, but it’s nice to be among people. I have a shelter, a table, a dock, sun, and shade, and the supermarket nearby. My mini vacation can begin!
